Founded by husband-and-wife team Rich and Stacey Michaels, the distillery represents a “second act” in their storied careers, focusing on authentic craftsmanship and local agricultural roots.

The distillery is housed in the historic Amsterdam Clocktower (the former Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Company building), a local landmark that has graced the skyline for over a century. This sense of place is poured into every bottle:

Farm-to-Glass: As a New York State Farm Distillery, Clocktower Bourbon is crafted using 100% New York-sourced grains, including corn, wheat, rye, and malted barley.

The Mash Bill: A carefully balanced blend of 60% Corn, 20% Wheat, 11% Rye, and 9% Malted Barley creates a profile that is both approachable and deeply complex.
